Islas de Gigantes in Carles, Iloilo, The Philippines

Carles is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines . According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 57,673 people. It is famous in Panay island for its rich fishing grounds and not to forget, beautiful beaches.

One of the many Islands of Carles.  This is a beautiful Island with should I say two shores? Yes, If you prefer to enjoy and relax in the calm waters, stay at this side. However, if you prefer rough seas, then head to the other side.

Locals call this as "Tanke" or tank since this looks like an artificial pool, pond, reservoir, or cistern, especially  used to hold water. Our guide says it is nice to visit the place during high tide as water decreases and no longer swim-able. I would say, this place is "enchanted".

This, on the other hand, a disappearing Sand Bar. During high tide you'll only a portion of this beautiful stretch of white sand extending into a body of water.  A big "T" as I may describe it.  You will fully appreciate this fantastic stretch of sand at low tide.

Here is a stunning stretch of sand, shallow water, a small island waiting to be explored.

Now, how to get there? I am not good in writing as you have noticed so you may check the following blog for detailed information:
